Tameka Hicks, Intentional Becoming

Why I Wrote This Book

For a long time, I believed my silence was protecting me. I thought not speaking was strength, survival, even faith.

But silence has a way of becoming a prison when it holds truth that needs light.

This book was born out of a deeply personal journey with God—one marked by pain, reflection, healing, and the quiet courage it takes to finally tell the truth. Not to expose others, but to free myself.

I wrote this for anyone who has carried unspoken wounds, questioned their faith in hard seasons, or felt the weight of stories they never felt safe enough to share. This is not a perfect testimony. It is an honest one.

If my journey helps even one person feel less alone, more seen, or brave enough to begin their own healing—then telling it was worth it.
